A trend in a stock market is no different than a trend in weather or any other data set. It’s just over some x period stocks went up or down. From the question you posted it sounds like you are looking at technical analysis. Technical analysis is a bad way to invest there is no real reason why a stock will keep showing the same pattern as in the past based on a chart.
In Twilight, how does Alice predict stock market trends? I understood her abilities enabled her to see the outcome of decisions made by people, such as the birthday presents Bella’s parents got her. I don’t get how this works with the stock market…

Is the ability to do a lot of good reasearch key in the ability to make good stock investments?
Does a stock investor have to spend countless hours in research about their investments in order to obtain profit?

Let’s suppose that 2 companies are listed in the stock market, and there is an acquisition:
- What dynamic trends do we see? Does the buyer stock go up or down?
- What happens to the stock of the company that is being bought? Do the companies merge in one stock symbol?
- Any other stuff you wish to share about your acquisition experience?
purchasing company stock goes down. target company goes up. Simple as that.
It is based on the idea that during the negotiation, the company being bought always knwo more about its prospects and will seek to extract as much value as possible out of the transaction, leaving the acquirer with the situation of having overpaid.
